Community Docks

chevron_rightIs fishing allowed at the HOA's community docks? Yes. HOA Members/Owners can fish at the community docks during daylight hours only. An HOA member/owner must be present at all times with guests and/or children and is responsible. Applicable TWRA rules also apply.

chevron_rightWhen is paperwork for a boat dock assignment submitted? All Dock Slip Applications as of 2023 are online. Members will need access to the Hickory Pointe website to submit an application. Dock assignments are first come first served basis and can be submitted on or after February 1, starting at 7pm. Boat stickers will be assigned based on the date/time stamp of when all documents are submitted. Date/time stamp must be after February 1 7pm. When Clubhouse dock reaches 20 boats then 6 will be assigned to Vista Shore once Phases 7-10 for Vista Shores applications are processed. If/when we have more request than number of boat spaces available then applicants will be placed on a wait list. Dock applications may be submitted throughout the year if a spot is available.

chevron_rightCan a boat dock application be submitted and then later send the insurance and/or boat resigtration? No. When the online application is submitted both the Boat Registration and the Proof Insurance must be attached to be valid.

chevron_rightIf the boat is registered in a family or friend's name can the owner apply for a dock assignment? No. The boat must be registered in the lot owner’s name. If the lot has more than one owner, the boat must be registered in one of the names listed on the deed.

chevron_rightIf a boat is sold and another purchased, is a new boat dock application required? Yes. Submit a new online application, boat registration and proof of insurance. A small fee is charged to have a new sticker printed.

chevron_rightCan owners request a certain boat dock? No. Dock assignments are based on lot phase and first come first served basis.Phases 1-6 are assigned Club House dock.Phase 7-10 are assigned Vista Shore dock.Vista Shore dock is allowed up to 6 overflow boats from Clubhouse dock.

chevron_rightOnce I have my dock assignment, will I also receive an assigned slip within that specific dock? No. Boat docks are assigned by property ownership. Slips are first come first served basis. If you take your boat out and then return later, there is a possibility another boat could be in your slip.

chevron_rightCan fishing or boating equipment be stored on the dock by my boat? No. The slip is not assigned to you, only the specific dock.

chevron_rightCan non-property owners of Hickory Pointe lease or temporarily use a slip in the dock or use the boat ramp? No. Covenant and Bylaws restrict use of ALL Hickory Pointe docks and other amenities for only Hickory Pointe property owners. Deeded dock owners may allow other Hickory Pointe owners to use/lease their slip if they follow the registration process.

chevron_rightAre deeded docks available for purchase through the HOA? While the HOA owns and maintains the Community Deeded Dock, sale transactions of deeded slips are private between the property owners.
Community Roads

chevron_rightAre there public and private roads in the HP subdivision? Yes. There is a map distinguishing them on the Hickory Pointe website. The Union County Highway Department is responsible for public roads maintenance. Property owners on private roads are responsible for maintenance on their roads.

chevron_rightCan property owners put salt on public roads? HP residents are advised by the HOA Board not to apply salt to public roads because it will shorten the life of our roads, causing potholes, cracking and damage. The Union County Highway Department uses sand.

Dues

chevron_rightHow much are annual HOA dues and when are they paid? Annual dues are $300 for Lakefront owners and $500 for Lakeview and Interior owners.Invoices for annual dues are sent by January 1. Dues are considered late by January 15. A late fee will be assessed after March 1, and a property lien after failure to pay by June 1.NOTE: Membership privileges, dock slip applications and use of other amenities are suspended until dues are paid in full.

chevron_rightWhy is there a difference in lakefront and lakeview/interior annual dues? Lakeview and interior property owners have access to the community docks. Additional dues are for dock maintenance and liability insurance. Lakefront owners are not permitted to use the community docks unless they also own interior property.
Other Amenities

chevron_rightCan the clubhouse pool be reserved? No, only the upper level clubhouse can be reserved for private events.

chevron_rightCan family, friends, or renters of property owners use the clubhouse, pool, and/or boat ramp? No. Due to liability issues, only property owners can use the amenities. The property owner must accompany guests while using the pool.

chevron_rightHow do owners get a clubhouse code? To request a Clubhouse code, use the CONTACT tab, then Treasurer. You will be contacted by the volunteer administering the Clubhouse door code. Codes are unique to your family and cannot share with anyone other than your family members. Your clubhouse code also works for the pool bathrooms.

chevron_rightHow does an owner make reservations for the clubhouse? To reserve the clubhouse use the link in the SOCIAL tab for the rental agreement form and process for submitting the $30 fee.

chevron_rightWhat utilities are available in Hickory Pointe? KUB (Knoxville Utilities Board) provides electricity.Well water is used by most homes. Some lots have access to city water through Maynardville Utilities.There are no gas lines in the subdivision.AT&T is the provider for cable, phone, and fiber optic internet.

chevron_rightCan a property owner camp overnight or live in a RV on the lot during construction? No.

chevron_rightWho should be notified when a property is sold? Notify the HOA Treasurer as soon as possible when your property sells. You can use email through the CONTACT tab or see the list of Board phone numbers in the MEMBERS tab.

chevron_rightWho should be notified of address/contact changes? Any changes in phone numbers, addresses or emails should be sent to the HOA Treasurer. Use the CONTACT tab to send changes by email. To call the treasurer, check the Board information in the MEMBERS tab. The HOA website should also be updated by the owner.

chevron_rightCan an owner combine two adjacent lots? Yes. The owner should submit the intended combination plan and applicable surveys in advance. If approved, the Board will provide the owner with an approval letter.

chevron_rightCan homes in Hickory Pointe be rented? Yes. Due to insurance liability, renters cannot use the community amenities (clubhouse, pool, docks or boat ramp).
Website Questions

- The username is an email. Check all possible email addresses you use.
- Do not copy and paste the email address. If any spaces are included by copying, it will not work.
- The website administrator does not have access to passwords. Reset password using the PROFILE link in the top right corner.

chevron_rightAs a new Hickory Pointe property owner, how do I access the MEMBER Sections? On the HOME page, there is an option to register as a new member. Click and complete the information. Once approved, notification will be by email with a computer randomly assigned password. Once in the HP website, you will need to change your password to a personal one. The randomly selected password will expire in 3 days.

chevron_rightHow do I recover my password for the Hickory Pointe Website? On the HOME page, there is an option to reset your password. The Hickory Pointe website administrator does not have access to passwords.
